An illumination distribution preserved colour substitution algorithm based on dichromatic reflection model

چکیده
In this paper, we introduce a novel colour substitution algorithm based on the dichromatic reflection model. We separate the object colour and scene illumination information in the target area of the original image. The object colour was subsequently substituted while keeping the illumination information unchanged. A new method was employed to estimate the object colour. We also developed a set of new parameters to adjust the intensity distribution on the resultant image. Our algorithm is totally automatic and can achieve more realistic effects compared with other colour substitution methods. q 2005 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.

Illumination-robust variational optical flow based on cross-correlation∗
We address the problem of variational optical flow for outdoor video processing applications that need fast operation and robustness to drastic variations in illumination. Recently, a solution has been proposed [12] based on the photometric invariants of the dichromatic reflection model [15]. However, this solution is only applicable to colour videos up to the validity of the dichromatic model....
متن کاملDichromatic Illumination Estimation via Hough Transforms in 3D
A new illumination-estimation method is proposed based on the dichromatic reflection model combined with Hough transform processing. Other researchers have shown that using the dichromatic reflection model under the assumption of neutral interface reflection, the color of the illuminating light can be estimated by intersecting the dichromatic planes created by two or more differently coloured r...
متن کاملGoniospectral Imaging of 3D Objects
A multiband imaging system with multi-angle illumination and a processing algorithm for multiband images acquired by the system are presented for extracting goniospectral information of 3D objects. Based on a dichromatic reflection model, multiband images are separated into diffuse and specular components. Then, the model parameters are determined pixelwise and archived. Using these parameters,...
متن کاملEstimation of the Illuminant Colour Using Highlights from Human Skin
The knowledge of the illuminant colour exposing an object or a scenario is very useful for computer vision and allows much more reliable colour based recognition and interpretation. In many computer vision applications humans are important parts of the scenario and the obvious detection of human skin colour is difficult due to varying illumination. Under certain conditions of direct illuminatio...
متن کاملGeneration, Verification and Localization of Object Hypotheses based on Colour
This paper presents a model-based method for colour-based recognition of objects from a large database. The algorithm is based on the assumption that surface reflectances of objects in the model database follow the extended dichromatic model proposed by Shafer [Sha84]. Adoption of the dichromatic model allows recovery of body colour the component, of sensor responses (RGB-values) that is indepe...
